As some of you may have noticed I am missing some posts from my trip. I haven’t really written about Thailand or Myanmar yet. I didn’t want to write about Bangkok because it was a hard time for me, but I did it and now I can move on to Myanmar finally! I have post-dated these entries so you can search, look by date (February), by country or just follow this link. I’ve been browsing this site, and it is just gorgeous. You’re not a genius, are you? Are you?? Because I could forgive that easier, and will feel less resentful.
Let me just respond to what you were saying about impressing people by talking about your wild travels. I think we run into different problems: nobody thinks I am strange or crazy, but they do think I am self-involved and prone to bragging. I think they’re right on all counts, alas. It’s tough jamming my stories into conversation – I’ve become accustomed to responding to things people say about, for example, their friend having a baby, with “You know what that is the exact opposite of? Paragliding in Bolivia. Funny story about that..”
And then I’d take it from there. If you have better ideas, I’m all ears.
