Happy Casimir Pulaski Day! It has been a long, cold winter in Chicago. This is my first winter living in the city itself and it took me a few months to get used to the cold wind whipping through the streets when I walk to the grocery store. I haven’t done as much of the fun things that Chicago has to offer so far but with two couchsurfers staying with me over the next few weeks, St. Patrick’s Day and my upcoming move to a new apartment March should bring a few new adventures.

Have you ever been to see the river died green for St. Patrickís day? You can read about here http://www.greenchicagoriver.com . The colors in the photos look enhanced but I assure you it is actually that bright of a green.

I marched in the St Patrick’s Day parade with the girl scouts as a child but I’ve never seen the green river apart from every year on tv. I’m meeting a friend for the South Side Irish Parade on Sunday (the “real parade” as she put it) but thought about going to the dying this year.
